“Please help me persuade Northern Rail to 9/10 trains on time.” – Ash Hall

On a daily basis i get a the 15:18 train service from swinton to sheffield. On the trains themselves they have advertisments stating that 9/10 trains are on time. However, on a daily basis i get to Swinton train station at 15:10 and set about my waiting time, The information boards in the station state that my train is on time. Last week as a prime example the train failed to show completely on monday afternoon with no notice that the train was cancelled. Tuesday the train didnt turn up until 15:28 however there was no information board telling people that the train was delayed. Wednesday again and the train did not turn up until 15:28. I feel that the advertisment of 9/10 trains are on time is a complete lie when the information such as a train been late cannot even been passed on to the staff at certain stations.

    I must say as well that nine out of ten is nothing to boast about! That means for every commuter making a daily round trip, one train per week will be delayed.
