I and three friends used this route in May this year, with our bicycles, to start the Coast to Coast cycle route in Whitehaven. Your policy is to only allow two bicycles per carriage, giving a total of four bike spaces on this two-car train. However, 10 cyclists wished to use the train on this occasion - a common occurrence given the popularity of the C2C cycle route.
Given that the train in question - the 0744 on a Saturday morning - carried no more than 10 passengers who were not cyclists, can I suggest that the policy is relaxed on this early, off-peak train, to permit a greater number of cycles. I am sure this can be done without any modifications, as the bikes would cause no more obstruction than large items of luggage or wheelchairs.
