Dear Northern Rail,
I am contacting you today to suggest an alteration in your morning train service from Doncaster to Sheffield …
I live in Sprotbrough and have been using the bus and train services since February 2nd. Unless I catch the 07:55am train to Reading which arrives in Sheffield at 08:20am, it is impossible to arrive before 9am and I don’t understand why there is a 40 minute gap in peak hours?
3 consecutive trains arrive into Sheffield station AFTER 9am, so isn’t there a possibility to take your 08:25 service from Doncaster backwards a bit to break up that cluster? Platform 3A is free for 30 minutes before the 08:25 arrives, but I’m sure it’s a bit more complicated than that.
I fully understand how difficult calculating the train grid is whilst considering all aspects, so please accept my criticism as a constructive one to try and improve your efficient services. I would really like to take this matter further to try and figure out a solution and increase the amount of people who use South Yorkshire public transport. I am not the only commuter from Doncaster to Sheffield which feels strongly about this and I would really like to continue using public transport.
I look forward to hearing back from you and thank you for your time.
Kind regards,
…………………………
