“Please help me persuade Vale of Glamorgan Council to an achievable bus timetable for the X2” – Ian Perry

Description

Ian Perry

The route between Culverhouse Cross and Lansdown Road is 3.2 miles on the A48 with a 30mph speed limit.

I've read the timetable and found that the 2052 and 2252 take only THREE minutes to cover these 3.2 miles. Are you really expecting bus drivers to drive at double the speed limit and to ignore Cardiff Council's assault course of traffic signals/lights?

My source of the bus timetable is the Vale of Glamorgan.

Is there another, achievable, X2 bus timetable?

    Hello Ian

    FixMyTransport Volunteer here

Quite an interesting pace then. It is clear that some form of clerical error has scraped in. This seems to only affect these two services which are the supported services by the council, which makes me wonder if the error is on other documents.

I am also going to send your query on to Vale of Glamorgan Council who support this service.

    Dear Mr Perry,

I refer to your query below.

It appears that the timetable used on our web site included an
unfortunate typo error for these two journeys, which will
be corrected as soon as possible.

The actual time (as advertised with the current Councils
publication the 'Vale of Glamorgan Public Transport Guide (from
June 2012)' and on the operators own web site) is 2058 and 2258
at Lansdowne Road (Mondays to Saturdays), not ##55.
This provides an actual running time for this section of route
between Culverhouse Cross and Lansdowne Road of 6 minutes, not
    3.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and I trust
    this addresses your concerns.
