“Please help me persuade Southern to bring Epsom to Zone 6” – Thomas Sales

Description

Thomas Sales

I really can't see why Epsom station is not part of the London zoning system when Ewell West and Ewell East are in zone 6, and it is very close to London (Tadworth, Tattenham Corner and Epsom Downs are far more southerly than Epsom yet they are all in zone 6).

Given that it is 'out of London', would I be able to, on a Freedom pass, get on at Ewell West and change at Epsom for a train to Ewell East?

    Dear Mr Sales

Thank you for contacting us regarding the London Zones. Please accept my apologies for the delay in our response.

London Zones are set out by Transport for London in agreement with the Government. We do not organise this however and you will need to speak to TfL in regards to the London Zones.
In regards to your Freedom pass you will only be able to use this within the London Zones so will not be able to travel to Epsom with the pass but you will be able to travel anywhere within the Zones.

You can however use your freedom pass upto the last station in the London Zones and then purchase a ticket to Epsom or whichever station you are wishing to head to.

If you wish to contact us further regarding your query, then please contact our Customer Service team directly at southernrailway.com/contact-form or by phone on 03451 27 29 20 or in writing to Southern Customer Services, PO Box 10240, Ashby-De-La-Zouch, LE65 9EB
