“Please help me persuade Transport for London to fix this: Complain about 344 route” – Lenka Zedkova

Description

Lenka Zedkova

I'm having difficulties to get to work on time every morning because of bus 344.I usually get on 344 bus in Elephant and Castle and continue to Liverpool Street. But every morning the bus is late never on time sometimes does not even appears on display. The intervals between each bus are pretty bad too as there is a gap 2 minutes between 2 buses and then long gap 10 to 15 minutes what does mean that the bus is everytime overcrowded and not everyone can get on the bus.The second bus (the 2 minutes interval is empty ) I would suggest have a 5 minutes intervals between buses what would provide smoother journey and more frequent. I hope this can be improve as I did complain already on many website and it does not make good picture of public transport.I hope that TFL can meet the needs of London commuters

    Dear Sir/Madam

    Re: Route 344

Thank you for your recent correspondence regarding the delays
and overcrowding you have been experiencing on route 344

I am sorry to hear of your experience. I know it can be very
frustrating when a bus service does not keep to its schedule,
and then arrives very full. Please accept my sincere apologies
    for the inconvenience caused.

Our timetables are planned to ensure that we provide a regular
and even service, and our route controllers work very hard to
maintain this, but road conditions can change at any time.
Unfortunately, all routes can be affected by unexpected delays
caused by problems such as traffic accidents, or planned
roadworks, meaning passengers may have to wait longer than
    expected for their bus.

If one bus becomes delayed, the services behind it may start to
catch it up. Because of the delay, there will also be extra
passengers waiting at stops, meaning that the first bus is held
up even longer whilst passengers board. This can cause several
    buses to bunch together.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Let me
assure you that we take all complaints seriously, and we will
continue to monitor delays on this route. Where a recurring
problem becomes apparent we will work with the operating company
    concerned to overcome it.

Once again, I would like to apologise for this inconvenience. If
I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to
    contact me.

    Yours sincerely

    Margaret Davis
