    Hello Mehran. FixMyTransport volunteer here.

It would be helpful if you could add the time and date that this happened and which way you were going on the bus.

    Dear Sir

Thank you for your email regarding the difficulties Mr Mazari
experienced boarding a route C1 bus with his dog on 14 February.

Mr Mazari approached us directly concerning the matter.  We
wrote to him on 6 March.

Our policy regarding the carriage of animals follows:

All assistance dogs are usually identified as such, with a lead
or coat.  These dogs must never be refused access to the bus.
For other dogs, our Conditions of Carriage state that passengers
can bring dogs with them, unless there is a good reason for them
to be refused.  The dog needs to be ‘in control and on a lead’.

Should access be refused, we expect the driver to explain their
decision.  Examples of where entry may be refused include:

    • If the bus is very full
    • If the dog is very big or dirty
    • If the owner of the dog does not appear to be in control of
    the animal
    • If the dog is not on a lead
    • If the dog appears dangerous

A copy of our Conditions of Carriage by going to the following
    link:

    [1]http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/c...

While we encourage all drivers operating services on our behalf
to adopt a co-operative and reasonable attitude towards the
carriage of animals, there will be occasions where a driver
refuses to allow a dog on the bus. Should an explanation not be
offered or if a passenger is unhappy about the decision, we want
to hear about it.  The driver can then be interviewed and should
the operating company feel it necessary, appropriate additional
    training can be given.

Thank you again for your enquiry.  Should you have any further
    queries, please let us know.

    Yours faithfully
