“Please help me persuade London Midland to fix this: Overcrowding” – Angela Cant

Description

Angela Cant

Trains from Wolverhampton to Birmingham New Street from 8.00am onwards are overcrowded. I don't mind standing occasionally but every morning is a bit much. This applies to all operators. The trains are too small for the number of people.

    Dear Ms Cant

Thank you for your email about your experiences of the services we operate
between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street after 8am.

We have a finite number of carriages available to us to use across our
network and they are all in use throughout the morning peak. We have to
manage the number of carriages we have and set them against the passengers
we anticipate to travel on the services across our network.

We do monitor the passenger numbers on our services regularly and if we
find changes we will amend the use of carriages accordingly at the next
    available opportunity.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to
contact us about this and I hope I have been able to explain our position
    in relation to this situation.

If I can be of further assistance then please let me know.

    Yours sincerely,

Perhaps the next question we can ask is when the next available opportunity will be?

I regularly take photos of the overcrowding on the 08:04 from Wolverhampton to Birmingham New Street and tweet them to London Midland Trains. They always say they're sorry and that the pictures have been "monitored".

We could ask to see a report that has been generated from these monitoring exercises.

Perhaps we could invite bosses from London Midland Trains to meet passengers from an overcrowded service?
