“Please help me persuade National Express East Anglia to introduce new trains on its routes in East London” – Julia Hörnle

Julia Hörnle

The train carriages are old, dirty and keep breaking down. This must be about the last train company which has not yet introduced new carriages and trains in London- but we pay over the odds!

Here is the letter that Julia Hörnle wrote.

New trains National Express East Anglia

The trains used on this route are old and disgusting- newer, better lit trains would improve the security and comfort of the journey. This must be the last railwayline in the greater London area which still uses trains which are at least 40 years old. I have noticed that on the line to Stansted airport new trains have been introduced- it is not right that commuters in East London should have to put up with this, especially in view of the expense of train travel. So my question is when will new trains be introduced?

The class 315 is only 30 years old at the moment. Not 40. You should benefit from Crossrail when it arrives in your area in 6 years time

You will probably get some fluff piece about the trains being introduced on the Stansted service.

The best thing would be for a refurbishment.

Hi Julia - those trains don't sound very good! I bet some of your fellow passengers would happily support your campaign, if they knew about it. Do you know anyone else who commutes who you could send this to? - Tom
