I was due to board the 21.30 train Meadowhall to Retford but due to delays the train was late. Once the train had arrived I sat down with 6 other people and once the train began to move the ticket inspector began asking for tickets. I gave him mine and thought nothing of it but once he had finished inspecting the ticket he asked me for my age. I replied by saying "15". This resulted in the ticket inspector asking me to pay an extra £5.20 to stay on the train otherwise i would have to get off at the next stop as he did not believe that I was 15 years of age. I was astounded that this had happened as i was not questioned at the ticket office about my age. As i had no money and ID on my person, i had to borrow the money from a friend, which made me feel embarrassed and ashamed in front of my close friends. During the travel home to retford, i checked the ticket prices online at nationalrail.com. This clearly stated that a child ticket is available for 5 to 15 year olds and priced at "5.20" for a return. As i am ashamed of your services and customer satisfaction i would like a full refund of the money that i had to pay while i was on the train.
Kind regards
Reece Mackey
