Initial problem

Hello,

Could you clarify the different types of real time data available to Brighton bus passengers, please?

Yesterday (Sunday), I checked your real time information on my phone at approx 14.15, and saw that two 81 buses were due at the nearest bus stop (bottom of Elm Grove), in something like 12 and 16 minutes respectively. We timed our departure from the playground accordingly.

When we arrived at the bus stop, no 81 was showing on the realtime information board. I refreshed my phone, however, and saw that an 81 bus was apparently just 4 minutes away.

However, two minutes later, it disappeared all together from the phone listings. We waited another 7 or 8 minutes, and then decided to walk home (making the Day Savers we had purchased earlier in the day an uneconomical purchase).

The phone information appears to be real-time, so why is it not the same information as that on the real-time boards? And which should supercede the other? Meanwhile, the printed timetable was giving a third view of when we could have expected the bus. I think this is confusing to passengers.

Finally, please note that this is not the first message I have sent you through FixMyTransport.com, but I am still awaiting responses for http://www.fixmytransport.com/campaigns/let-us-use-the-key-card-for-singles and http://www.fixmytransport.com/campaigns/reconsider-their-fare-rises.

Thanks!
