Initial problem
The parking ticket machine next to the bike sheds at Newcraighall did not seem to want to take my money when I tried to use it at 1310 today.
I trust that this is not a difficult thing to fix.

First Scotrail sent me a letter apologising for the issue I had with this ticket machine at this station. They asked me to bring the problem to the attention of a member of staff at the booking office.
Newcraighall does not have a booking office.
They also failed to contact me within seven days and sent me a £5 Rail Travel Voucher.
I consider this matter closed
