no conductor to take money

Initial problem

we got 12 23 train to preston on sat from layton station which is unmanned and we had the 11 pound 20p fare for 2 people in my hand but the conductor did not bother or even attempt to collect any fares so we got off at preston there was no body checking tickets so we thought oh well we will pay on the way back which we did but know the fare had risen to 13 pound 60p so we have been charged 2 pound 40p extra because the conductor was to lazy on the way out to collect fares i find this disgraceful the money should come out of his wages and not hardworking peoples pockets
