Initial problem

Train terminated and coaches were laid on. Took 2 hours to arrange and the coach for my train going to Southport. We were told the coach would go direct and not stop. Anyone who was travelling to stations in between Wigan Wallgate and Southport would have had to wait for a another coach, The staff on the ground, who were very good, could not say when that would come. I and two other passengers got a taxi for 21 GBP between us from Wigan Wallgate to Burscough Bridge. My view, given the situation, passengers should have been allowed to get taxi's with instructions on claiming a refund. I am guessing it would have been cheaper than trying to charter another coach in a situation where they were clearly having problems due to the demands of the weather. If I can find out how, I will attempt to claim back my 8 GBP taxi fare.
