Initial problem

I purchased a ticket at Leeds station for a journey to Carlisle where I would change trains to get to Seascale, Cumbria. On arrival at Carlisle I boarded the train bound for Seascale only to be told that because of a shortage of drivers the journey would only take me to Workington, well short of my desired destination. I was told that a bus would be waiting at Workington station to take me and the other passengers to our desired destinations along the coastal route between Workington and Barrow. On arrival at Workington station there was no bus but instead a handful of taxis which we were left to organise ourselves to get us home. There were not enough taxis due to a shortage of drivers so it was really each man for himself in the end. An unfortunate and inconvenient end to what should have been an enjoyable scenic route.
