Initial problem

There is no shelter outside the station. So when it's raining and the station office is closed (it closes early) there's nowhere to shelter while waiting for a taxi or lift.

There doesn't need to be a proper bus stop-like shelter, just a protrusion or slight canopy attached to the building will suffice. In fact anything will be nice just to minimise the amount of drenching. Thanks.

    Hello

I am one of the FixMyTransport Volunteers. It is great to see you raise this suggestion and I hope you get a positive response directly from First Capital Connect soon.

I would also suggest that you contact your local Rail User Group too. They should have some good connections within First Capital Connect. The best person at the local rail user group to contact would be their founder member Stephen McPartland who is also your MP. You can do this through our sister website WriteToThem, which I have linked to below. Just input your postcode and the contact details for Stephen McPartland should come up. If not, the postcode for Knebworth station is SG3 6AT.

I hope this helps. Please keep us updated and I look forward to a positive response.

    Kind regards

Hi Peter. I know Stephen, but didn't realise he had time to be on a rail user group as well! I was interested to see how far a suggestion on FixMyTransport would go and if First Capital would pick it up and respond directly, much like FixMyStreet does with prompting councils to respond directly. I'll see what happens through this process before I contact Stephen. Thanks for your response, appreciated.

Do First Capital realise when it rains their customers have to stand inside the tiny phone box while waiting for their taxi or ride? The building closes early afternoon so there's nowhere to stand to keep dry, except in the phone box. If they can't afford to build a shelter then at least ask BT to install another 2 or 3 phone boxes!
